BRAHMIN MOTH (Brahmaea wallichii)
This is among the largest species in the Brahmin moth family with a wingspan of about 100 – 160mm. It is also referred to as the Owl moth because of its prominent eye-like markings on the forewing. The characteristic black-brown pattern on the wings, provides an excellent camouflage on tree barks. They flutter fiercely when disturbed.
